Get The Net

Jenny and I kinda had a rough day today. We soon realized that things were going to get much worse before they got any better. We consoled ourselves with our favourite cupcakes, counted our many, many blessings and tried, as best as we could, to remove the dark cloud that seems to be permanently stuck. We are just trying to have faith, but realizing it is harder to actually do than just say.

Anyways, we will both be okay, so lets talk about Michael Jackson.

I figure after the many, many, many, many, many, many, many times I have mentioned my dislike for him, it should say a word or two about his death. I watched a bit of his memorial concert, and about half way through most of the songs realized that they weren't that bad. So maybe I should have given Wacko Jacko another chance. But then again, after watching it, more than once this past week, that Thriller video is still pretty scary.

Now for the real news. Not long before I left on holidays I came to the realization that my cell phone was near death. It only decided to accept half of the calls that it received or to reject phone calls and text messages all together. So when I got back I knew it was time to find a replacement.

Soon into the research process I realized that flip phones were out, and slidey texting phone were all the rage. So with somewhat limited options, I am now the proud owner of a slidey slide phone too! Take a look. Old phone.....New phone.

I've never really been that into texting, after all didn't people write letters for centuries wishing they could just talk to the person directly? Isn't that the major reason the telephone was invented? And now to go back to writing seems like just a step backward. But the kids are all into the texting these days. Personally, I have dated two text-aholics and have even been dumped via text message.

I gotta say though, with the new slidey slide, texty text phone, I find myself opting for sending the text rather than making a phone call. I shudder to think about future generations discovering voice-to-voice communication.

Grateful for all I have, to wish for anything more would be selfish.

Good luck to all of us. Please, God speed.

As Always,
