If you have ever worked at a desk, I am sure that you know about the random things that get left behind by the previous person who inhabited your desk. Maybe it is a collection of coloured paper clips, a pile of really, really old filing, or if you are lucky, an excessive number of glue sticks. (I am sure you are probably jealous, I had all of these things waiting for me at my desk when I started.) But what I found the other day has got to be the weirdest memento of days gone by.
Sitting patiently on my highest shelf, was Big Bird. A ‘Tickle Me Pal’ still in its original box, creepily staring at me. I pulled down the 10” toy and questioned those around me why a Muppet had taken up residency at my desk.
They all burst into laughter and shook their heads. No one had any answers as to who would have left behind such a strange office supply. I looked it over a few times and put it back on the shelf to wait for the next occupant to find it.
Please make up your own story as to why someone thought it would be necessary to have Big Bird as a part of their professional day.
