A Pretty Difficult Segue To Make

I am a little more than upset today. I left my ipod at home. So I am stuck just listening to the hum of the air conditioner all day. (It is already driving me insane.)

Today is the first full Monday I have worked for ten months. In July and August, our office closes early on Fridays and so I no longer get off work early on Mondays. The idea of only working limited hours on Monday was seriously the only reason I came to work those days. But I have stocked my office this morning with horribly delicious puffed wheat squares to help the day along.

Let’s see, the weekend, not overly exciting. I spent $12.00 and 20 minutes to turn my hair the exact same shade it already was. Who knew that my hair had faded to medium blonde already?

So here is the story of the weekend. It isn’t that great, and when I told Jenny she just rolled her eyes with disgust over my high jinks, but hopefully you all will enjoy.

I took my time getting ready on Saturday morning and ventured out to pick up a few items and run a few errands. Just browsing through one store I was in, I was approached by a person not much older than me, nervously trying to convince me to sign up for the store credit card. Feeling sorry for the bumbling salesman, I thought I would play along to at least boost his confidence.

Not wanting a store credit card myself, I quickly came up with a fake name and address in which to send my new credit card to. The salesman enthusiastically chatted with me as I added a fake birthday and phone number to my application. But then, as a last step, he asked me to confirm my information with some form of photo id. Knowing my driver’s licence would not contain my fake name and address; I sadly shrugged and told my friend I didn’t have any id with me.

My new friend’s face fell. “You don’t have anything with even your name on it? I just can’t go ahead with your application without confirmation of your information” he pleaded. I shook my head, slowly walking away. The frustrated peddler let out an overly audible sigh and headed off to convince the next shopper.

I guess lying isn’t really helping. Oh well, “Best laid plans….”

Hoping to have a good week, and maybe, just maybe, getting an intervention or two out of the way.

Good Luck. Please God Speed.
As Always,
