I have been waiting all morning for the power to go out at the office, so that we could all go home. We again are in the middle of a thunder storm, and as I drove to work this morning, I seemed to be surrounded by lightening. But sadly, no transforms have been hit, and work is carrying on like normal. We, I think, are already working a short day, so I guess I should just work the limited hours I do have. I can’t even pray that the office becomes flooded, because, like my house, I work on the second floor.
So today I thought I would tell you about one of my favourite internet applications. Google Reader.
Now, yes, I understand I have already tried to convince some of you to use this product, and others of you are yawning as you have been using a similar invention for what seems like an eternity.
But for those of you who do not fit in either category, keep reading to see if this makes sense for you.
Nowadays, it seems like everyone has a blog, heck, even you mom has blog, mine does. And most of your internet time is spent going from blog to blog looking to see if your friends and family have updated. Most of the time people haven’t updated and you disappointedly look for updates on the next blog on your list, but other times it seems as if people are overly inspired and there seem to be four or five posts that you need to catch up on, if you could only remember the last one you read.
This is where Google Reader comes in, it is a quick way to find out who has updated and who hasn’t, all in one place, meanwhile keeping track of the posts you have read, and those you haven’t quite gotten to.
Thanks to Jeff who first introduced me to this idea a few months ago. Read his post on the matter here.
Seriously, the hardest part is creating a Google Account, and if you are on Blogger, congratulations, you have already completed this step.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Here’s hoping for a better weekend.
As Always,
