Today’s Report From Iceland

I’m not going to lie to you, this could have been the only reason I came to work this morning. It for sure wasn’t for any amount of stimulating conversation, or the fact that I thought getting out of my nice warm bed would be fun. Sorry, I’m just cranky. I still haven’t gotten a chance to sleep in. Who thinks calling Denise at 9:00 am would be a fun Saturday activity?

Just thinking, it is funny what we as a society now hold near and dear. Today someone called me in a panic and asked me to check their personal email. I got their user name and waited for them to tell me the password. They paused for quite a while, and then said to me, “Sorry, I just can’t tell you my password.” They quickly retracted with, “It’s not that I don’t trust you. Or that I have weird emails in there that you shouldn’t see. It’s just, well, I can’t. Sorry.”

I totally agreed with the person. I don’t have anything that you would even really want to read, let alone anything super secretive in my inbox, but the idea of giving out my super secure password makes me ill. It isn’t 13 characters for nothing. (Sadly it isn’t ILuvDeni5e)

The weekend started and ended with a bang. Well, as much of a bang as we are going to get these days.

Friday ushered in our first annual Non-Preference Party, which was seriously better than ANY preference I have ever attended. We had delicious food, got locked out of the house, (only for a couple of minutes), and had more laughs with the creepy David Blaine video (Cheez-its, Cheez-its, Cheez-its), Nadine, Dear Sister and of course, our favourite, MOC 2007. Let’s definitely try it again next year.

And Sunday brought the return of our great Weekday Eve. I have always loved Weekday Eve since we invented it almost a year ago. And no matter simple they always seem to be, fun always ensues.

We played one of my favourite games, Famous People. (Although, I really think that we need to think of a better name.) It always is somewhat challenging especially with stupid people that everyone thinks to put in. Who remembers who Paulie Shore is, really?

You would never guess that our house really was clean before the night we had, but I think the funniness was worth all of the mess. Thanks to the Provisional Government for making a guest appearance.

Looking quasi forward to our FHE madness of an air band performance. We have a lot of energy and heart in our group, so here’s hoping we win based on that.

Only waiting, hoping and praying for something good to come along.

Wait - I am confused. Isn't preference where YOU ask the GUYS? So you gave up on the guys? Well, that's going to come back to haunt you.

Did I give up on guys? Uhm..pretty much, yes.

Now that makes me seem like one of those bitter old girls who thinks all men are scum. Please, please don't get me wrong. I am anything but that. As anyone, I am still the number one fan of boys.

But in terms of Preference, I did give up. It just seemed like too much work for the lame-ness that resulted from such a backwards dance.
