This Situation Has Come Back To Haunt Me

Hey, I’m sorry I was gone so long. It has been a crazy week, to say the least. Crazy busy, crazy productive, crazy fun, crazy odd. Here’s hoping next week is a little quieter.

Let’s start at the very beginning: (A very good place to start.)

Our air band “competition” went very well on Monday. I don’t want to toot our own horn, but our group was head and shoulders above all the other groups. However, following all of the performances, we realized that they weren’t actually going to pick a winner, claiming that we were all winners because we got to participate. Boo!

We are not young athletes, nor in Primary. There are losers, and it is all the other groups. Now give me my medal and/or trophy. (Really, honestly, I am not competitive.)

Monday also included being contacted by a blast from my past, my own JTW, not Carson Daly. It has been 2+ years since our sad goodbye, and I had almost started to believe he wasn’t quite real. But all the pictures of his wedding and new baby definitely seemed real enough. I have been trying all week to shake our chance reunion off, but have come to the realization that most of what I have is a new hair colour. Here’s hoping I have better luck next time. And well, hoping there is a next time.

Tuesday started by being awoken at 5:30 am by my roommates scurrying around, and turning on car alarms. Not fully awake, I tried to formulate a reason in my head for all of the noise, but never thought it would result in one of my roommates losing an organ.

A big congratulations to our Mary who survived surgery alone, and coped quite well with the boring hospital. Sorry I wasn’t more exciting at our visits and that I didn’t try and sneak in anything funny for you. Get better soon.

Wednesday…well…ah…gosh...it seems to be more of a blur than really anything. What did I do, well it is anyone’s guess.

Thursday included one of the first days off in a while. I do understand that Thursday is a pretty odd day to take off, and I really was regretting not having today off as well as I had to brave the cold elements alone to come to work. But yesterday also included new brakes! Yippee! You can now ride with me in safety. And with the cold weather, my odd car has decided it would like to start using its power steering fluid again. My car really is almost drivable again.

I also tried to get some Christmas ideas from a trip to the mall, but was bothered by the Thursday afternoon busyness and have decided that I am only giving out hugs for Christmas this year. Sorry, I don’t have the time, patience or money for anything else.

Alright, now today, Friday, I have absolutely no plans for today. With everyone I love, and even those I don’t love making other plans, I have every intention on going to bed and sleeping almost until Sunday morning. It’s really too cold to do anything else. How I ever plan on finding a return to normal with that plan, I don’t know, but so far it is the best I have.

Here’s to:

All that we wish for, plus a little more actually coming true.

Good luck to all those who need it, and God Speed for who don’t
