Phew. It has been a long day, and a long week. But thankfully it is a long weekend, and I am excitedly waiting to sleep in, catch up with some old friends and eat turkey. (Seriously. You should definitely give Thanksgiving in October a try...but more on this later.)
Today I am suppose to tell you about my favourite TV show. I rarely watch much on TV when it is actually on....thank goodness for the internet and DVDs. But there is one show that I get a kick out of watching when it is on TV.
Come Dine With Me doesn't mean to be a funny show, but it is one of the funniest shows on TV. This is a British gameshow where 4 people throw a dinner party for strangers who score each contestant's dinner. The person with the highest points wins 1,000 pounds. I am pretty sure that I only love this show because the people on it are English. Considering the fact that England was such an influence on Canada, we sure eat different and talk different. Each dinner party has at least one dish that I have never heard of, and everyone on the show has such a unique way of putting words together.
Seriously, I am not doing a very good job at selling this show to you. Watch it for yourself and have a laugh or two.
There is a Canadian version of the show apparently in the works, but like any TV production in Canada you have to live in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) to participate....Jenny, I'm counting on you. I would love a chance to compete, mostly just to see what kind of score I could get. While I'm sure the Canadian version will be decent enough, I don't think it could be nearly as humorous at its UK counterpart.

I love that show too! The Canadian version is on Foodnetwork. It's called Dinner Party Wars. Not as good.
