Cutting Edge

I love getting my haircut. In fact it is probably one of the most expensive hobbies that I have, well that and car washes. There is nothing like a good haircut to make you not only look better, but feel better.

I love all of the brightly coloured shampoo bottles, the soothing music, the satisfying pile of hair on the floor and the lightness of your head after weeks and sometimes months of growth has been removed.

I’m not too picky about my hair. In fact I have had a similar haircut for most of my adult life. Sure the length goes up and down, and the colour changes from light to dark and then back again, but the overall cut has been about the same. So when the haircutting mood strikes me, I made the first available appointment, throwing caution to the wind.

That was until I found the greatest hair stylist ever. He moved quickly and silently, producing the best haircut I had ever had. For weeks my hair looked amazing and bad hair days were suddenly a thing of the past. Soon word got out about the talent of this stylist and it was near impossible to schedule a haircut with him. Only a few days before I decided to schedule a haircut with my talented friend I learned that he had been deported from the country. Yup, deported. Devastated, I put off my haircut for a few more weeks, until Saturday when I finally had enough and once again threw caution to the wind and scheduled the first available appointment.

What a mistake. The hair pulling, comb tangling, uneven cutting stylist went to work on what was to be my simple trim. Shortening my hair from mid-shoulder length to shoulder length was supposed to be an easy $30 for this lady. With the first chin length cut of my hair, my pushy stylist said, “Is that too short?” Without even time to answer she went on, “Oh well, I guess it’s too late if it is.”

The Beatles, Justin Bieber and I all have the same haircut. Isn’t good that I am full of natural beauty? It’s fine. Just a little shorter than I had anticipated, but probably a nice summer change.

Hope you are all enjoying your July, thus far. It is pretty odd to think not only is summer quickly flying by, but also that the year is half over. What have I done with the past six months?

Hmmm….

The very best of luck to all of you.

As Always,

Let us not forget that Justin Bieber is famous mostly because of his hair. It could happen for you. We just need to get your picture to Usher...
