Oh my! Well, I am sorry that I have been gone for so long. I honestly have been so busy. But let's put all of that behind us and move on.
I know Christmas was a while ago, but I wanted to tell you about my favourite presents....besides the psychedelic pajamas my brother gave me.
This year....err...last year, I had a VERY Beatles Christmas. I have been receiving Beatles gear from all sorts of people since I started listening to them half way through Grade 10, so I wasn't surprised to find more 'fab' gifts under the tree.
In September The Beatles released all of their albums, remastered in stereo sound. Even though I already owned most of the albums, I got the whole collection. And can I just say....OH MY GOOD HEAVENS! They are so awesome!
Firstly, I am just so happy to have all 13 albums in one box. (Even the elusive White Album. I have seriously asked for it for every Christmas and/or birthday for 12 years, and strangely it has never been in my possession.) I even love their heavily promoted "green", vegetable ink, packaging.
Secondly, the improved sound quality is apparent. If you are not an ultimate fan like me, most of the songs will just sound good to you. But to those of us who have spent countless nights listening to muddled mono sound, the stereo sound shows The Beatles in a completely new light.
Please, do yourself a favour and follow these directions so that The Beatles can become your favourite band too:
1.Grab a some headphones. (Yes, you will need the headphones to completely appreciate this.)
2. Take a deep breath and clear your head.
3. Take a listen to the suggested songs below. (But seriously, all the songs are fantastic.)
I have never really been that much of a fan of the song Strawberry Fields Forever, but the new stereo sound makes me forgets the lyrics all together and realize how many instruments really went into this odd song.
On the other side, Here There And Everywhere has always been a forgotten gem. Listening to this in stereo will make you forget all the instruments and remember how great The Beatles were at making songs to fall in love to.
I wait while you listen to these songs. Hurry up!
Pretty great? You bet!
Alright, so the second Beatle-esque present I received was Beatles Rockband. I've played regular Guitar Hero and Rockband. Sure, they are fun enough. I am not that great of a guitarist or drummer, so I usually volunteer to be the group's singer. Of course my band wants to play some half obscure Garbage song, or Alice In Chains. It is only through some begging that I convince them to play Weezer, or something somewhat recognizable. I wasn't expecting much out of Beatles Rockband.
But it is awesome too! And not just because I know all of the songs and can easily sing them in 'Expert'. If you want to play drums, suddenly you are Ringo, take a stab at the bass and become Paul. Sing the songs with three part harmony. I think you would do pretty good, even if it is only She Loves You or I Want To Hold Your Hand. (Shame on you if you don't know these songs. Repent and memorize them! Here and here.)
So come over one day. We'll play and you will love it! I guarantee it.
Sorry for another Beatles post. This makes the 24th time I have mentioned them on here, not too bad for 500 posts. But, at this point, do you expect anything less of me?
Lots and lots in the works. Announcements hopefully soon. (Don't hold your breath, just cross your fingers.)
As Always,

I recently found your blog (a link from Flick's blog which I started checking when I found out one of my very best friends was planning on proposing to her). Maybe this is weird but you know I think you're funny and cool so maybe it's just a compliment.. anyway, I've started from the beginning and I'm reading through. It keeps me entertained at work. Your blog life (even if the only person I ever know is Eric and you hardly ever mention him) is interesting/funny/entertaining. I have been feeling like a creep just reading it and I'm hoping me telling you makes me less creepy but I'm not sure about that. I have to say, too, that I always feel the love. Seriously, I go away from you blog feeling important because you tell me (yes, me) how much you love/miss me at the end of every post. Thanks!! ANYWAY-- keep writing. I love and miss you too :)
Beatles Rockband!??!!! Count me in!! :D
Please remind me to take you up on that offer to play at your place!!! :D <3
