Wishing You Still Spoke English

It was only after Jenny began singing some songs that she had written as a small child to me last night that I remembered my favourite mid-nineties song.

Long before my older brother, Brent, was a songwriter, it was my younger brother, Eric, who began crafting a tune of his own. Yes, he only wrote one song, but it is a pretty awesome song.

Sung, of course, to this melody.

"There Was A Man"

There was a man
He was there for me and you
He was there for me
He was there for you
He was there for everyone.

Then he died
Then he passed away
Then he was no more.

--Eric Garner, circa 1993

Still missing our B-A-B-Y.

As Always,

One wonders if Eric could sing that song in Spanish?
