Scattered Thoughts
Hey! They made a movie about me. Sort of. I was looking in the TV Guide at all of the upcoming movies and found this gem, 'Life on Liberty Street'.
Here is the synopsis:
"Denise Garner, a single divorced mother and dedicated ER nurse takes on a new position at Liberty Street, a hospital for patients suffering severe brain trauma. She adjusts to the slower pace, but her career becomes complicated by the discovery that troubling secrets are locked away in the mind of her favorite patient."
So if you are lucky enough to get the Hallmark Channel, check it out for all of us. Come on, it is starring Ed Begley Jr! How could it be bad?
I may be a little too relaxed today to do any amount of serious work. I just got back from my four-day weekend. How is that even possible, you might wonder? Let me explain.
Yesterday, November 11, was Remembrance Day. One of only a handful of set day holidays we have in Canada. This year it happened to fall on a Tuesday. My office, deciding it would be too difficult to do work on Monday and then have Tuesday off, decided to close the office on Monday, and as a result we all got an extra long, long weekend.
So what have I been doing on all of my days off? Not much. I read, er, listened to A Tale of Two Cities, our most recent Book Club selection. (Why didn’t I think of Audio Books earlier?), we hosted a surprise Birthday Brunch for Amy, which went off much better than I thought it ever could! Thanks to everyone for their secret keeping! We went shopping, went for dinner, flirted, talked about Preference, realized Jenny and I would be awesome at Rock Band, cleaned the house (twice), watched a lot of horrible TV and ate too much licorice. All in all not a bad weekend.
Thankfully, our next weekend is only a short three days away! Why can every week be this quick?
So, of course with the advent of November comes the constant chatter of Preference. I seriously retired last year. Seriously. Read my heartfelt speech here. However, somehow I think I have gotten roped into going again this year.
I have three viable options this year. All of them would be a good enough date for the evening and I am at the same level of comfort with all of them. So now the problem comes in actually choosing one of them.
Of course, everyone has a different opinion as to who I should take. So now it is your turn to give your opinion.
Grateful for all that I have. If Preference is my biggest stress, I can sort that out.
As Always,
With lots of love,
Denise

"I can't...my arm's in there..." (followed by half sincere laughter.) That quote alone makes me want to see the movie.
Hey, remember when you were an ER nurse?
