It’s Only A Matter Of Time

I love my MTV. I know I am about 25 year late in saying that. Now, MTV is really not that awesome, or as cutting edge as it once was, but given the choice between CBC and MTV, I know what I would pick. (I’m sorry CBC. I still love you Peter Mansbridge, George, Jono and Mr. Dressup.)

The other night I found a new show on MTV called, Date My Playlist. (I seriously need to stop watching TV. Take up reading or something.) The guy or girl had to pick people to date just based on their musical tastes.

Most people had music on their playlist that I would never listen to. But I was intrigued with finding someone with the same love of music.

So I have made up my own playlist for you all. (If you know of any single guys, see if they will date me based on my music selections.) I originally had 17 songs on my playlist, but narrowed it down to just my seven favourites. Hope you enjoy!

Short Skirt, Long Jacket—Cake
(A guy once told me I was the girl they were talking about in the song, and I have loved it ever since. I like to think it is true.)

Come and Get It--The Beatles
(“Wait a minute, I am sure I have heard this song before, but I didn’t think it was The Beatles.” I am sure you are saying to yourself. And you are right. This is really a Badfinger song (Although still written by The Beatles).

Listen to the Badfinger version and you will realize The Beatles sing it so much beter.)

To Be Surprised--Sondre Lerche
(I tried to find a better video for this song, but sadly it doesn’t exist. I was waiting to be surprised, but nothing happens in the video. You have my permission to minimize it and play a game or figure out what you want to get me for Christmas while you are taking a listen.)

These Are The Days--Peter Katz
(Thanks to Eric for introducing us to Peter Katz, both musically as well as personally. He is playing a here in town on November 24. An event not to be missed.)

Not Ready To Go--The Trews
(The more I listen to The Trews, the more I love them. Sadly, most of you missed a fantastic concert.)

Work--Jimmy Eat World
(Oh, good old Jimmy. I found it difficult to choose a song to put on the list, I love all of them so much. But I really like this video.)

The One You Want--The Get Up Kids
(If people really could just choose someone to love solely based on their musical tastes, I would have been married long ago. A friend and I have the EXACT same musical love and he introduced me to The Get Up Kids. I have been hooked ever since.)

Just short 13 more hours (yes, I am counting) until a peaceful, relaxing weekend. Hopefully, fingers crossed, an extra, extra long weekend.

Looking forward to The Book Club. (Even though I didn’t read anything this week. Whoops!)

Thankful for everything I have but heaven knows I don’t deserve.

As Always,
