For some unknown reason, Jenny loves when I put my hair up. Maybe because I don’t wear it up very often. So just for Jenny, I pulled my almost obnoxiously long hair into a small bun for work today. The office is a buzz with excitement, and I have been receiving way too many compliments for the amount of effort exerted into looking this good. Not a bad way to start week. Thank goodness I have natural beauty.
Don’t worry for all of those, mostly Americans, who are not following the Canadian Olympic Medal Count, as from my last post we now have a whole slew of medals: gold, silver and bronze. And while we are nowhere near the top of the leader board, we all seem to be happy with the amount we have. Way to go Canada! We are proud!
So we got a new Bishopric on Sunday. In a normal family ward, this doesn’t seem to be as traumatic, after all, chances are you already know the new bishop, and you can talk to the old bishop whenever you want because you will be in the same ward.
Being in YSA, your bishop could be anyone in the Stake, people you know, or maybe those you don’t. But sadly you won’t get to see your old bishop every week as he returns to his family ward.
It might sound a little weird, but my friends and I hung out with our old bishop quite often. Since their children were so far away, we became adopted children, and we spent a little bit of time in the past three years at his house, playing games, eating food, looking for birds, watching various DVDs and of course talking about boys. It was always funny, and our bishop always welcomed my friends and me to his home with open arms.
This change has been anticipated since June, however, with each week that rolled by, we cheered as we continued in the three year norm we had become accustomed to.
But, all good things must come to an end. We said a sad so long to our old bishop and wished him well in the ever so noisy family ward. I know we are all excited about our new bishopric and look forward to the upcoming weeks and new start in September.

I didn't get a prize either, so uhh I was thinking of bugging Nicole on Thursday night at the Canning.
