Hey it’s Friday! Hey it’s Friday! This week has been overly long. I have been waiting since Tuesday for the weekend to begin.
Our book club assignment is to finish Gone With The Wind. I have a little more than 400 pages until the disappointing ending. Book Club is always such a funny night. Considering Jenny and I are now shut ins, Book Club is usually the only night of the week that I venture out of my house in search of socialization. Thanks to all the ladies for the funny laughs and wonderful opinions, even if we only discuss the book for five minutes. I am so excited to start Where’s Waldo next month! (Please! I just read Gone With The Wind! I can’t read another long book!)
I am tarting myself up tonight and attending our ward potluck in hopes of beginning my fall conquest a little early. Keep your fingers crossed! Someday this is surely to work.
The Olympics have continued, and all without any medals for Canada. Of course, this has been the water cooler conversation for the past couple of days; no one really wants to admit that we might not be the best at every competition we enter. But really, we are not doing that bad, usually coming in fourth or fifth, just shy of a medal, every time. If only there was a brass medal or a tin medal.
Yesterday, coming home from work, I listened to various Olympic comments on the talk radio station (Yes, I am my father’s daughter.) where it was suggested that Canada pull out of the Olympics all together. Apparently, if we can’t win, we are just going to take our ball and go home.
Personally, I am not sure why we are so worried. Just as the saying at my house goes, “We’re baseball men”, so to should Canada understand that “We’re Winter Olympic men”, and that all the lost medals will quickly be made up as soon as Team Canada wins the gold medal in hockey again. After all, we have the home court advantage in 2010 hosting the Olympics in Vancouver.
We still have ten days of Summer Olympic competition, and even if we come home empty handed, we cannot fault you for your valiant efforts. Great job athletes!
So to my dear fellow Canadians, fear not, “We’ll Get Them in the Playoffs”
Thanks to everyone for a pretty decent week.
Waiting for a new letter from Elder Garner. Testify!
Another try this Sunday?
Good luck to you all. Please, God Speed.
As Always,
