Well, only 39 and a half more days of Lent to go.
We are having a giant Lent kick off tonight with our own version of Ash Wednesday, hangout with our Ashley… maybe that was a little blasphemous. Sorry to Catholics far and wide. You know I would be one of you, if I could.
I still don’t know what I am giving up for Lent. I know there are probably a lot of things that I should give up, but none of them seem as desperate as last year. Last year I gave a boy up for Lent, and I never really looked back.
With no one in current radar, there is no one to give up. Besides, I gave up my “Internet Boyfriend” a couple of weeks ago anyways. He was just too boring online, and it was too awkward in real life. Here is a sample conversation to illustrate my point:
Mr. LOL—How was your day?
Denise—Not bad. I alternated between working hard and hardly working.
Mr. LOL—LOL
MR. LOL—You are funny.
Denise---I know I am. What did you do today?
Mr. LOL—Nothing.
Denise—Sounds exciting!
Mr. LOL—LOL. You are so funny.
Pretty much that is how all our conversations went everyday. Me asking question after question, him giving lame answers, while always commenting on how funny I am. (Which is true, but kinda annoying after a while.)
Besides that isn’t really a good story to tell all of your friends and family. “Oh, we knew each other, but we never really talked face to face, just on the internet. It was love at first emoticon.”
I will reiterate it for all of those who missed it the first time I wrote it on here. Jenny and I found this quote before Christmas and fell in love.
“Somewhere out there is a guy who can’t wait to tell the world he is your boyfriend. Quite goofing around and go find him.”
Surprisingly, I don’t want a guy that will just tell the online world he is my boyfriend.
Sorry I never intended on writing about dating how to today, although it is obvious that some of us really do need that lesson.
Alright, switching gears, here is a funny, not so funny story from the office today.
Our receptionist called in sick today. I am not overly surprised; she calls in sick at least once a month, leaving me to be head backup receptionist. Anyways, she called this morning and said, “I have a headache, so I don’t think I will be in.” What?!? We all have headaches, but we are still coming to work.
She was going to take an aspirin and see if she felt well enough to come in. Surprise, surprise, she called an hour or two later and said she wasn’t going to come in today. Needless to say, I haven’t gotten much done with the constant phone interruptions and people to receive at the front desk.
With the week half over, things are looking pretty good and I am hoping to have a lot done before the weekend. Jenny and I have optimistically joined forces for a Spring Cleanathon of our house on Saturday. Hopefully just in time for our Mel viewing on Sunday! (Could there be anything better than a movie featuring a “turtle-like” creature?)
Sidebar: Loving the ‘Smart Playlist’ on itunes. Thanks for knowing just what I wanted to listen to this afternoon, even if I had no idea.
Thanks for making this week not so bad. Keep on keeping on.
Lots of Love

I'm pretty sure I read someone was attending Internet Boyfriend's facebook wedding. Did you see that? It was really weird and I think it was fake, it was like suppose to be on facebook, like the actual wedding?! Maybe I'm wrong, all I know is it looked weird.
