Help Me If You Can

Boo for today! I am not a morning person, but I am for sure as not a Monday morning person. Again, I think I should have taken one of my holidays, today.

On Friday night, we went to see the lighting of the Christmas tree in Galt Gardens. Despite the fact it was cold and windy, Downtown Lethbridge did a pretty good job trying to get everyone in some sort of Christmas mood. Santa was supposed to come, and turn on the lights of the decorated tree in the middle of the park, and then there was going to be Christmas movies playing with free hot chocolate and popcorn.

As we waited for Santa to come, half of us stood in what we thought was the hot chocolate line, and the other half stood in what we thought was the popcorn line. After a long wait, Santa breezed by us, (kinda in a huff) and went to turn on the lights of the lamest and poorest tree I may or may not have ever seen. It was so very anticlimactic, as we didn’t even realize that Santa had turned on the lights until much later. (If we ever drive downtown together, ask me to show you the “Christmas tree”)

Finally, we got to the front of our line, only to realize that we had been standing in the popcorn line. And the other half of our group, had been standing in the balloon line! We took our popcorn and balloons and went to sit on the cold cement and finish watching ‘How The Grinch Stole Christmas’. Too cold to even start ‘Charlie Brown’s Christmas’, we left for the warm comfort of the mall, where we happily met up with Keely!

Thankful for:

Another weekend with our favourite Keely. You should just be here every weekend.

Sorry for:

All the numerous phone calls to Ashley. Here’s hoping you made it out that house safe and sound.

Oh well, back to the drawing board. I just wish I had some artistic skill.

Good Luck.
God Speed.

Hey, I was at that event! It was my first time and I got lots of hot chocolate and only a small bag of popcorn. It was so fun though. I only regretted not wearing a winter coat!
