A special thanks to Jenny for organizing the Cheer Up Brigade. Despite the fact that we went for wings, I had a super fun time and the wings weren’t that bad. I am glad that I know enough about Chapters to hold my own during the impromptu staff meeting that always seems to break out. And somehow, I don’t think I could get cuter company.
Before some of you were even out of high school and I was in college, my friends and I use to go for wings every Wednesday. Every week the group of people grew and became more and more eclectic as everyone started inviting other friends. It really became the place to be and be seen on Wednesday night, as you were never quite sure who you were going to meet. (I did get some pretty good/weird dates out of the deal. Remember the guy with orange hair?)
When the time to order came around, of our 15-20 person table, about 75% of the people would get ‘Salt and Pepper’ wings. Yup, you imagined that right, just salt and pepper. I couldn’t believe it, the lamest “flavour“of all time. The place went had over 15 different varieties of wings, but week after week Salt and Pepper won out.
Everyone would cry in shock and panic, as I would get the ‘Hot’ wings. (Which really, really weren’t that hot.) About half way through the night, someone would always ask if they could try one of my wings and would be horrified at the spiciness and wonder how I could eat a whole plate of them.
College ended and I moved home and lost track if Wing Wednesday carried on. I wonder if it is still going on today, but really don’t care that much about wings to find out.
Here’s to:
Doing pretty good with what I’ve got.
Somehow, Lady Luck is on my side. Let’s keep it up.
God Speed.
