Greeting from the Crossroad of the West!
Today is the last day of our Conference Expedition, and truthfully I am excited to go home. The girls have fallen in love with Utah, and the mountains, but I just want to get back to the flat prairies and everyone that I love. I guess I still do suffer from homesickness a bit. Horrible, I know, at 25 to still be homesick! (I use to leave sleepovers early because I would get homesick.)
Everything has worked so well. The girls have really been amazing. I would sincerely write that even if I knew they weren't reading this. We have spent maybe a maximum of 3 inches apart from each other for the last six days, and everyday has funnier stories and more laughs. And surprisingly we all still want to live together when we get home. Trips like this can really make or break friendships (trust me, I know) and I think these are still going strong.
The whole Conference experience is just that. Something that really needs to be experienced, at least once. There are so many people! And the Conference Center is so amazing! We all have fallen in love with Temple Square. Jenny is right, there are more couples here than you can ever imagine. Not too awesome for us single ladies. (Surprisingly no one tried to pick up any of us!) But seriously, I can't blame all the people. Everywhere is too beautiful to not be in love.
We left on this trip hoping to get out of town and clear our heads, get refocused and refreshed. But somehow I think we are coming back more confused, and tired. Or at least I am right now. Maybe things will look better in the morning, and when we can sleep in our own beds again.
I need to go to bed seeing as we are leaving early tomorrow morning. Only a few more hours until we are home. Thanks for all the great times, Utah.
Here's to:
Utah. More beautiful in the spring than at any other time.
My grandparents. For being wonderful hosts and giving us a place to stay.
My roommates. For making this trip so much fun, I can't wait to go somewhere new with you.(If you will let me drive again)
All the General Authorities. Inspiring messages filled with the spirit of God. Looking forward to the May Ensign.
Tooele, or Tooeleger. Our second home and home to some great Mexican food!
Regency Street Parking. Hidden gem of a parking place. Thanks for being so cheep!
The Reflection Pool. Great place to spot couples, hot guys, jealous ex boyfriends and just reflect on all the events of the day.
The Seagull Pool. Just for being you.
Mrs. Robinson. This trip wouldn't have been so necessary without you.
And everyone at home who made sure we were still alive. Thanks for all the concern, advice and funny stories. We missed you.
More funny stories and pictures to come!
Missing you dearly. Hope you missed me, at least a little bit.
