Still Rock and Roll To Me

At the end of March I made a list of my top ten most played songs on my iPod. Now, only 8 months later, look a just how similar, yet different the lists are!

Top Ten

1. I Will—The Beatles--165
(“Will I wait a lonely lifetime? If you want me to, I will.”)

I am just so relieved that it is a Beatles song that is number one on my most played. I can’t claim them as my favourite band, and then have them at the bottom of the list. Who doesn’t love this song? You would have to be dead inside to not love it!

2. Night Drive—Jimmy Eat World--160
("Now’s the time for a good song. Get something to say what I can’t.")

Night Drive! Night Drive! This song has been a part of all of crazy adventures. This song has won all the ladies hearts.

3. The One You Want—The Get Up Kids--154
(“What are you waiting for? It’s said and done.”)

I didn’t even know who the Get Up Kids were 8 months ago, and now they are number three?!? Thanks for the great music suggestion.

4. If Only—Goldfinger--154
(“If I woke up with all of these things would it even change your feelings?”)
Who doesn’t love Goldfinger? Thanks Tony Hawke Skateboarding for introducing them to me!

5. Hey There Delilah—Plain White Ts--125
(“You’re a thousand miles away, but girl, tonight you look so pretty. Yes, you do.”)

A repeat from the last list, and still one of our favourites for everyday.

6. If You Don’t, Don’t—Jimmy Eat World--99
(“Would you mean this please if it happens, cause I need this now more than I ever did.”)
Oh, our heartbreak song. I guess the good part is that we haven’t had much use of the song in a while.

7. That’s All—Michael BublĂ©--96
(“I can only give you love that last forever.”)

I canvassed Brent and Jen to have this as their first dance. But I guess Brent’s song was just as good.

8. How Long Is Too Long—The Get Up Kids--92
(“I keep spilling every secret without spilling any secrets at all.”)
How long is too long? The question I ask myself everyday.

9. See You—Saves The Day--91
(“You want to know who I really am? Yeah, so do I.”)
One of those great loud songs that I think contributed to my blown speakers and subsequent diminished hearing. Isn’t that one of the reasons we have a car, to listen to loud music?

10. Middle of Nowhere—Hot Hot Heat--88
(“Everybody’s hanging out just like they hung out before.”)
A good old song from the first days of my iPod. One of the first songs I put on. It seems so long ago!

Honourable Mention

Come On Over—Plain White Ts
(“And where I come from, that’s just got to mean something to you.”)

Keep On Thinking—Sloan
(“The reason I don’t want you to stay is the reason even I don’t know.”)

Kill—Jimmy Eat World
(“Please don’t tell me this has been in vain. I need answers for what all the waiting I’ve done means.”)

Out of Reach—The Get Up Kids
(“I’ve got pictures to prove I was there, but you don’t care.”)

Something In The Way She Moves—James Taylor
(“If I’m well, you can tell she’s been with me now.”)

You know I love "I will"! It is the song I sing when I do the dishes and when I'm sad, or when Jessica is playing the ukelele
