There seems to recently be an epidemic of people with broken hearts. Don't worry, I understand, and I want you to be happy again. So I am sending you the steps it takes to stop being so emo, and start being normal again. Good Luck. Don't worry. Someday there will be happiness in Nottingham.
1. Declare a Mental Health Day.
Ahh..the Mental Health Day, one of the best days out there. However you need to use this day very carefully, you only get one. Go to the Mall, clean your room (or bathroom), lay in bed all day, watch a movie or two, listen to your stereo really, really loud. Use this day to do whatever you need to make you temporarily happy. If you are too nervous to take a day off work or school, dedicate the weekend to improving your mental health.
2. Have A Girl's Night
In our house, girls night is one of the most important steps of the emo-ness. Girls night gives you a chance to be with other people. We usually watch a movie (The Wedding Date or Bridget Jones Diary), go for dinner (Thank goodness for BP), and scarf down cheesecake (The more chocolate the better). All in all the Girl's Night gives you a chance to tell your story, and have someone to sympathize with. If you are boy, call up any girls you know, and tell them you need a girls night, I am sure they would be willing to host. Hopefully they don't put face masks on you or something like that.
3. Find a Song
I believe that the theme song is the most important step. For the most part the song will find you....I know, that sounds incredibly creepy, but it is true. And you will know it when you find it. This is a song that you need to just be able to listen to it 1000 times. One day, you will be listening to your song on repeat, and everything will just be okay. It will be an amazing miracle. And after that, every time you hear your emo song, you will just laugh and think, how could I ever be that sad. Trust me, you will get there.
Happiness is a choice. It is something that you need to work for everyday. Especially when you are thinking that you might never be happy again. You need to consciously say, "I will be happy. Come what may." If you make this week the best week, and this day the best day, and this hour the best hour, you will be okay. Take little steps and you will get there. (Wow! I sound like Tony Robbins.)
As Flick's analogy goes, if you went to the pound to pick out a puppy, would you pick out the puppy crying in the corner with the broken leg, or would you pick the puppy that was fun and wanted to play? Emo people are only fun for so long. Sympathy will run out. People will tell you to stop crying. Maybe you need to stop before people have to tell you to stop.
Don't worry, I love you, and that is all that matters.

Beautiful, Bountiful
So a Happy Victoria Day to one and all. I hope that you all celebrated in true Victorian style...whatever that may be.
Today, me and Eric went to Brooks. It was my first trip to Brooks since we moved about 2 years ago. I am not sure why I haven't gone back in all that time, I guess there was never really a need to.
It is amazing how quickly your life can change, and even your views can change. I have lived in Lethbridge, on and off for almost 8 years now. And it wasn't until today, that I realized that Lethbridge, really is my home now.
Brooks is the same for the most part. It has only been two years, how much could really change in that time. But with fresh eyes, you do see some new things.
First of all, the mall, Cassils Centre Mall..."a little bit of the city" is totally demolished. The mall never really had anything that good in it. There was a Safeway at one end and a Zellers at the other end, and some lame stores that you would never go in in the middle of the mall. The "food court" consisted of the Dairy Queen.
Secondly, they got a new swimming pool. This was the main reason for our trip, was to go swimming at the new pool. Eric and I, if you can believe it, really are swimaholics, and every summer we travel near and far to go to a new pool. We have been to every pool in Lethbridge, outdoor included and even out to Taber to go swimming. Every time I would come home for the weekend or something when I was in school, Eric and I would go swimming at the old Brooks Pool. It was nothing fancy by all means, but it was familiar. Now the pool just might be one of the best that me and Eric have been too. It definitely rivals anything we have in Lethbridge.
Thirdly, Size. Oh my good heavens. When we were in Brooks, the idea of driving from the Church, on one side of the town...or I guess city, now, to our house on the other side seemed like a long way to drive. But in reality it is only like a 2 minute drive, and that is hitting all the lights, during "lunch traffic" (That's right. The only time there is really traffic is during lunch when everyone is driving home to eat.) Not that Lethbridge is big by any means, but to get from my house to the church is like a 10-15 minute drive...and that is driving 100km down Scenic.
However, there are things that I miss about Brooks.
The culture. Everyone from Africans to Newfies live in Brooks. You can't be racist living there, because chances are, you are the minority.
The flatness. Lethbridge is not really that hilly or anything, but it is a lot bumpier than Brooks is. I miss the prairies. :(
Communities in Bloom. Okay, there is a reason why Brooks wins this competition every year. I think they are the only community that really tries to win. Between the banners though out town, and the fire hydrants being painted up, and now the dumpsters being all fancy, Brooks really does try and win this competition and make the town a little more cheery.
Good Bye Brooks. I will miss you. Thanks for all the great times!

Sure Enough Good To See You, But It's Time To Go
So I guess it is pretty amazing how the end of the week always seems to go faster than the first half. Kinda like the gas in your car.
Just, thank goodness for a busy week at work to keep my mind off my loneliness and boredom. Oh my, I am the biggest baby. I am sorry.
Welcome to the long weekend. Who doesn't love a day off work because of a dead English queen? So lets put some real news on here.
Last weekend, Ginger, Sarah and Cody went to New York City. They were left in a bind about how to get down to the airport in Great Falls, so they asked me if I could drive them.
So with a Ford Freestar, Friday off, and my ipod filled with awesome music, we headed down to Great Falls, for the third time in about six weeks....it has become my second home.
After a non blog worthy Thursday night, we headed to the airport early on Friday morning so that my East Coast Travelers could catch their plane to Denver, and then on to New York City.
When we got to the airport...an hour early...the lady at the ticket counter asked what flight they were leaving on. Ginger told her they were leaving on the 9:45 flight for Denver. The ticket lady, quickly told us that, that flight left at 7:05 earlier that morning.
We all looked at the flight schedule and sure enough we had read it wrong, and missed the flight. I thought that Ginger was going to die. How could she mess up on getting to her city. The ticket lady told us that the next flight wasn't leaving until 3:00 later that afternoon, which meant they wouldn't get into NYC until 1:30am.
I was excited to spend the day with the gang, but after a quick check of the other airline, they were able to secure the last three seats on a plane headed to Minneapolis, and then on to New York, only putting them half an hour behind schedule. So we quickly said our goodbye, and I started my road trip, alone.
Because this had been my third trip to Great Falls without seeing "The Falls" I made a quest to find the falls. I went to River Drive and followed the river until I found the Falls, which I must admit, are anything but great.
I made friends with all the geese around the river. Flick was beside herself when I showed her the pictures of my new friends. And then like the hobo I am, I fell asleep under this tree, in a wonderful little park across from the Falls called Peace Park.
After the nap I applied for two jobs, at Party America and Big Bear Sports Outlet. The lady at Party America was really excited, and interviewed me right then. I am sure she will be sad when she finds out that I can't take the job.
After a bit of lame shopping, and a trip to our Holiday gas station, I decided to head home.
In the tourist book I had picked up, it said to that Highway 89 up to Glacier was the most scenic highway in all of Montana, so I decided to take that way home. And in the process stopped at every Scenic Outlook and Historical Sight along the way.
I ended up in a small town named Choteau, where I went to a Farmers' Market and bought some bread and honey. And drove to a beautiful lake with a lighthouse, for some odd reason, Lake Frances.
It took just over 4 hours to get home, but it was a really enjoyable drive. I put the Ipod on shuffle and there was no skipping songs, just straight music and singing the whole way home.
So now, a week later, not much has been going on .It seems like a lifetime since I made that trip.

You Say It's Your Birthday, It's My Birthday Too...soon
So a Happy 100th Birthday to Lethbridge! (Not that anyone cares)
Some how all of the centennial celebrations, both for Lethbridge and for Alberta have been lack luster. No parades or days off work, or even a big birthday cake. There have been fireworks, but that is about it. Although would I have gone to a big celebratory party had there been one, probably not.
Today is also a month, one month, until I turn 25. Apparently, life starts at 25. I don't know if I fully believe that. The saddest part is that I only looks like I am turning, maybe 20? Oh well, I guess I should be happy about that one.
And here is the random thought of the day. Enjoy!

I Feel Good, In A Special Way
Happy Cinco De Mayo for all of my Mexican friends. And a wonderfully great Friday for all the rest.
Not much in major news. It is a beautiful May day. The sun is shining, the bird singing.
I am mowing our lawn at our house after work today. We have such a cute little house, but our front yard looks pretty crapped up, so it will nice to have everything looking good again. I am really not a green thumb. I always forget to water my plants. Maybe I should stick with fake plants.
Marlyssa recently commented on all of the plants at her house, and how she was trying to name her plants. I only have one fern, but recently I named him as well.
At the old house, my fern was healthy and happy, and just plain grateful to live with me. But in the new house. Something happened.
My once beautiful fern was turning black and sad. Was it because there wasn't enough light in my new room? Or maybe I had forgotten to water him for a couple of days or... weeks.
But surely our relationship could get past these hurdles!
After much apologizing and a new pot. Booker the Sickly Fern is doing much better. We might not be back to the place were once were, but slowly we are getting there.
Good Luck with all of your naturistic endeavors. Here's to a great summer.

You Really Can't Believe It, And You Hope It's Getting Better
It seriously is hard to believe that it is May. Seriously. We have all been talking about the upcoming summer and now it really is here. Not that it seems any more magical than the past couple weeks, but still hard to believe none the less.
There have just been so much, nothing too monumental, going on that blogging has taken such a back seat. I am sorry that updates have been slow.
Movies
(Ladyhawke...a movie about a lady that turns into a hawk...someone had to think up that name for a long time. However it does have the best soundtrack ever!)
Soccer Games
(Can you believe I played soccer...next thing you know, they will have me playing volleyball! Go Wildcats!)
Crack Climbing
(The Crack is a crack in one of the coulees...I know, another well thought up name. I got scared, and only made it about half way up, but maybe next time we can go the whole way. There were bats flying around, and it was dark. The last thing I wanted was rabies.)
Road Trips
(Cartwheels in the hallway, visits from security, sumo wrestling talking boys, rollerskating and robots...oooo.)
Walks
( We are not walking as much as the pioneer children, but we are taking full advantage of the beautiful weather, and the wonderful scenery and the great company.)
Hockey Games
(Playoff hockey. It makes fans out of even the nonathletic. Or quasi fans at least.)
The summer has just begun. What will it hold, no one knows. Can you wait for the upcoming postings? I submit you cannot.
