Second Mondays

The happiest of Thanksgivings to all of you.

I know that all of my American fans are shaking their heads and laughing at our early celebration, but let me tell you here and now that Thanksgiving in October could be the best decision we have ever made.

1. What else are you doing in October? It is nice to have a holiday in every month, and without Thanksgiving, we would just be stuck at work.

2. The end of November is kinda a dicey time. It could be absolutely beautiful, or we could have piles of snow. While, yes it is Canada and it could potentially snow in August, the chances are a lot better for a nice day in October.

3. Our holiday is on a Monday. That means I have all of Saturday and Sunday to relax before I have to even think about the stress of a holiday.

4. No Black Friday. You might think we are sad about this, but luckily we have a happy holiday almost entirely invented for shopping called Boxing Day, a fantastic way to get in on the post Christmas sales.

5. Turkey is always welcome. With two and half months between Thanksgiving and Christmas, enough time has passed to enjoy our Christmas turkey just as much as we did at Thanksgiving.

I know I can never convince you that our Thanksgiving is the better of the two holiday, but I promise you that you would love it if you gave it a try. Come celebrate with us next year.
