Dewey Decimal Fan

Today’s challenge post is to tell you about my favourite non-fiction book. I am a big fan of non-fiction. As any of my previously employed by Chapters friends know, I could spend hours making my way through the Reference section. I love books filled with quotes, lists, random facts and how-tos.

So of course you would guess that The Fascinating Girl ranked pretty high in a list of my favourite books to flip through. Full of detailed how-tos on what to wear, say and do to win a guy, this serious book makes me laugh every time I pick it up. While we have seen that none of this really works to win the one you are chasing, it has made me more conscious of being ladylike.

I’ve almost been a Beatles fan for longer than I was a non-Beatles fan. Over the past few years I have collected quite a number of Beatles paraphernalia. But out of all of it, my favourite would probably be my Beatles Anthology book. As an accompaniment to the Anthology documentary of a while ago, the book is everything the six DVDs are and more. It is huge! If someone ever breaks into my house, fear not, I’ve got a weapon to defend myself with. It is jammed packed from the top of the pages to the bottom with pictures, quotes and even more information than any Beatles fan should ever really know.

A few months ago, dear Google Reader suggested that I read a blog called 1000 Awesome Things. A list of all of those little things through out life that might not be that big, but just make life that much happier. I loved reading the blog. On those days when things felt like they weren’t going right, that blog helped to remind me of all the things that I should be grateful for. So when it was announced that the blog was now becoming a book, I picked up a copy of The Book of Awesome. I lay in bed every night stifling laughs as I read about all the awesome things in the world. I nodded my head in agreement at most of the suggested things. Every chapter helped me to remember something else in my life that was awesome. It was truly one of the most delightful books I have ever read.

Have any non-fiction suggestions for me?
