I am pretty good at spurting off all of the nonsensical, unimportant details of my life for you. In the whole time I have been recounting my life for you, I am sure that only a handful of real, important events have been discussed. Hopefully you are not looking at this as an informative way to catch up on my life.
So, let’s discuss some real life events that have been going on lately.
First, and I would say most importantly, our favourite Elder Garner finally returned home from his Dominican Republic mission. He is a lot tanner, skinnier and taller than I remembered. He still has a half an accent and gets a little freaked out that we drink water from the tap. He bursts into loud Spanish songs every once and a while, but deep down, he’s still the same guy we loved before.
It is getting close to two weeks since he got home, but you still can’t imagine a happier family. It is so great to be all together again. And thankfully, phew, we don’t have to send any more missionaries out for a long, long time.
Secondly, I should let you know that Jenny and I are moving. I have known for quite a while, almost half the year, but yes, after living together for over three years, we have finally decided to go our separate ways. Jenny is leaving me for the wonders of Eastern Canada, and once again is donning the title of student, this time in Toronto. I, on the other hand, am moving just down the street. Exciting, I know!
Moving felt so far away, something in the far future that one day we would have to figure out, but now we are down to single digits countdown until Jenny leaves. (Luckily I have a few days longer until I have to move out.) I walked up the stairs of our somewhat creepy apartment building last night and realized how much I would miss living in our deluxe apartment in the sky.
I don’t know that Jenny and I have come to terms yet that we aren’t going to be with each other anymore. Some days it feels as if it is really time to say goodbye and move on with our lives, and other times, I am sure that both me and Jenny would be willing to commit another three years to each other. But it is probably for the best. You know our saying anyways, “Friends can live in different wards.”
The summer seems to be slipping quickly away from us. I for one am excited to see it go and move on to September. It will be nice to get back into a routine and, hopefully, more serious matters.
Good luck to all of us. There is so much to do in the next little while.
Anyways.
As Always,
