I am totally, one hundred percent, blaming Jenny for getting this idea in my head. With tax season upon us, and more importantly tax returns just around the corner, I was excited to receive a hefty enough cheque from the government as a reflection of just how poor I was in 2009. Jenny has been lucky in the past couple of years to be able to put her return towards exciting vacations, and usually is jetting away to a random location about this time. I awesomely got a $7.00 return last year, and barely had enough money to take an exciting trip out to Coaldale.
So earlier tonight, while discussing our Easter plans, it was Jenny who suggested I take my return and go to General Conference. Initially laughing off the idea, but it wasn't long before I started formulating a plan to spend Easter abroad.
Thankfully with my real adult job, I get the widely uncelebrated Easter Monday, as well as Good Friday away from my desk. I thought about all of my Utah friends I could spend some time with (including you!), family I haven't seen in a while, and realized I could even bring some Almond Joys home for my mom.
So I sat down in search of some cheap flights between here and there. I seemed to find some flights that were pretty awesomely priced, until I realized that I would have a ten hour layover in Bozeman, Montana. With a more direct flight (I don't really want to go from Calgary to Vancouver to Seattle to San Francisco to Salt Lake.) and a car rental, my vacation was going to take all of my return....plus a little more. Hmmm...
I debated for a good long time, and even got pretty far in the booking process, before a little voice in my head reminded me of dying car and my goal to buy a newer one sometime this year. So sadly, my tax return is staying in the bank, for now. I am trying to not think of all of the exciting thing I could do on my vacation, or all of the people I will be able to catch up with (including my General Authority friends.)
Oh well, there's always October, right? Hey, throw a few bucks my way and maybe I'll reconsider my plan!
Love you all. (Have you thought about Easter in Canada? It's beautiful this time of year!)
As Always,

Much less pleasant than a plane, I'll admit, the Alberta - Utah Express (http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?v=info&gid=37431174893) does have some merits. Perhaps you can make it to Utah sooner than you think.
Come in October! We'll be home then!
I thought your mom would be more concerned with bring back Rice Chex than Almond Joy. We'll pay you back if you bring Bounty Bars. :)
