Mixing Things Up Around Here

So, what do you think?

For those of you who are viewing this on your handy reader, stop on by here and take a gander at our new look.

Only half way through projects like this do I remember how much I truly hate HTML, and yes, there are a few links and whatnot that need to be tweaked, but over all, not that bad. And well, as my mom always says, "A change is as good as a rest"....a slight variation on "Enough is as good as a feast."

Hey it's August!

But kinda hard to tell from the week long downpour that we have been experiencing. I am pretty sure that Monday night's storm was right over our apartment with the deafening thunder and lightening brighter than noon day. If lightening hits the tree outside of our house, I still say we make a bat out of it.

But unlike everyone else who is complaining about the unseasonal weather, I own way too many jackets and sweaters to fully appreciate the summer. I might be stoned for saying it, but I'm looking forward to the fall.

So I thought today I would give you a list of things that I am totally loving right now. Enjoy.

1. Finger Nail Polish

I'm not exactly sure what colour my real toenails are, considering for the past many years they have ranged from dark red to neon pink and even the occasional week of purple. But a few weeks ago, I decided to add some colour to my fingernails as well.

I recently read an article encouraging nail polish as a "fun reminder to flirt with all those you come in contact with". And while I decided long before reading this to paint my nails Petal Pink, it has been a gentle flirting reminder.

2. Windows Movie Maker

Considering I have made three "movies" in the past couple of weeks, I have become somewhat proficient at this program. While at times incredibly frustrating, it has been a great creative outlet as well.

3. "Are You Afraid Of The Dark" Reviews

I found these videos actually a few months ago, but had forgot to mention them. It is a friend of a friend, of a friend, of a friend (actually, I think it is only two degrees of separation) who reviews old episodes of "Are You Afraid Of The Dark", a now cheesy Canadian TV show featuring scary stories. It was popular around the same time as Goosebump and Fear Street books. I was actually too afraid to watch in the early 90's, but now it is hilarious.

Take a view. I promise you won't be disappointed.

4. Red Box Video Rentals

I know the idea of these cheap movie rentals is somewhat old for some of you, but our local Walmart was just graced with the presence of a Red Box. And let me tell you, what a deal! Jenny and I have loved getting a new movie on quiet (especially this week, rainy) nights, considerably cheaper than Blockbuster.

5. An Ever Growing Baby!

It seems difficult to believe, but my niece Carmen seems to be turning into more of a real person, and less of a baby every time I see her. She is so much fun, and I really can't get enough of her. I'm still trying to find a way to get her and my non-puppy Tawny on the bus to visit us.

6. Fun Times With Friends, Both Near and Far

The past couple of weeks, while somewhat somber, has given me an opportunity to catch up with friends here in the city, as well as those who live much to far away for my liking.

A movie I was watching last night quoted this cheesy line, "If a person can count all the friend they have on one hand, they are more than lucky." Thankfully it would take more than my pink tipped fingers and purple panted toes to count all of the friend I have. I guess I must be pretty lucky.

Well, I guess that is it for now. There is a lengthy list of things I am really enjoying these days, but that will have to wait for some future date to be revealed.

Grateful for all I have. Hoping for only a few more things. (Is that selfish?)

With Lots Of Love,

DENISE! I thought I was the only one! I, too, am looking forward to autumn, apparently far more than is reasonable. You are right, it is time to say goodbye to sunburnt noses and hot seat belt buckles... and maybe, drink some hot chocolate together?

On another note, your new design made me laugh, because I changed mine FROM this design just yesterday! I guess there is no getting away from this Notepad Chaos...

I love the blog. Keep writing! :)
