Each Life That Touches Ours For Good

Well, it has been over a week, so I guess I should try and make a comeback.

We attended a beautiful grave side service for Leita last weekend. She is buried in a small, serene cemetery in the foothills. Even thought it was a ways out of town, and very short notice, quite a few of Leita's YSA friends came to the service.

We are having a memorial service this weekend. I am responsible for putting together a sideshow of pictures and also printing up a program for the service. It has been a bit of an odd time going through Leita's computer and camera for pictures and finding all sorts of pictures from when she was little. I also borrowed her ipod to find a few of her favourite songs for the video. Thankfully, one of Leita's most played songs on her ipod has turned into the perfect tribute to her. I only hope that this video turns out to be just as fantastic as I imagine it...in my mind's eye...to be.

I am not going to lie, I miss Leita something terrible. I miss not being able to read funny new updates on her blog, or listening to her list of all of the guys she thought were prefect for me and was always trying desperately to set me up with. I laughed to myself on Sunday, thinking how proud Leita would be that I was still able to end Sunday School on time, despite the fact that Sacrament Meeting went over, again. I know that she is still around, telling me that this is the semester I would finally get married...even though she has been saying that for the past year and a half.

So to make sure that I really could make a video, I threw together a simple how-to video on writing to Eric while he is still on his mission. So many people have asked me what the best way to write to Eric is, and so I thought I would answer all of the many questions, and increase Eric's incoming mail, all with one you tube stone. Take a look here. I'm pretty proud of it, even if I did throw it together in a couple of hours.

Saturday Jenny and I did so much! And a lot of it before noon! I would say that one of the biggest problems that Jenny and I have are that she is definitely a morning person, and I am much too much of a night owl. Jenny has invited me to come with her to the Farmer's Market, of course bright and early, many, many times. However, enjoying sleeping in as much as I do, I have often declined, choosing sleep over fresh produce. But this week I decided to check out the market.

Who knew that the place to be on Saturday mornings was at the Farmer's Market? Jenny and I had a great time looking over all of the delicious baked goods, newly picked vegetables and even enjoying a fantastic breakfast bun. We ran a whole bunch of errands and even rounded out the warm morning with a swim at the pool just a stone's throw from our house.

This week already seems to be racing by with so much to do in the next couple of days. I am grateful to be somewhat busy again. It has been more than a little while since I have been so productive.

Knocking on wood for something good.

As Always,
