Hi.
Sorry I haven’t been updating you all as much as I probably should. It seems as if there really isn’t anything blog-worthy to discuss. Life seems to be headed on a straight course, and the weeks pass by with the same outings, conversations and events. But I guess life really is just full of mundane moments, and not every day or week can be full of excitement.
My long Thanksgiving weekend came and went. It was quiet and half lonely as Jenny had spent the weekend with her family. The house really becomes eerily quiet with just one person at home.
But I did vote today! Our Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, called an election and thirty-six days later I entered the Junior High only a few blocks from our house to cast my ballot.
Now, I have talked about voting before. And true to form, this time turned out just as lame as the other times I have voted. Everything from the recycled paper ballots, to the flimsy cardboard partition and golf pencils screamed mundane.
Where was the excitement, where was the enthusiasm, where was the burst of national pride?
Maybe me and my “Entertain Me” generation don’t quite appreciate the simplicity of our voting process, but seriously, we could do so much better.
I am volunteering next election, and bringing some much needed excitement to the whole process! Maybe Elections Canada just needs a breath of fresh air.
So, go and vote today if you haven’t already. Maybe your polling station will be more exciting.
Thankful for a short week.
Still crossing my fingers, but refusing to hold my breath.
Good Luck.
As Always,
