Delivered Via Fax

The weekend was a funny one. Jenny and I powered through a Veronica Mars marathon on Saturday, we have just begun the third season. I was relieved to know we still had our bishopric, for at least another week.

On Friday night, Jenny and I decided to forego our normal movie watching gang, and head to see The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. Jenny and I have both read the books and had seen the first movie, so we figured it would be a lighthearted way to begin the weekend.

When Jenny and I entered the theatre, we found what was the female equivalent of Transformers. Every seat in the theatre was taken, and finding seats not in the front row was a challenge. Jenny and I soon realized we were the oldest people in the theatre as the preview for High School Musical 3 came on and the theatre erupted with chatter, applause and screaming, every time Zac Effron came on screen.

The whole movie continued like that, as the theatre was full of gasps, sobbing and broke out in full applause after the movie was finished. Jenny and I seemed to be the only ones laughing at the more subtle jokes and couldn’t believe it when the theatre truly was shocked at the noticeable plot twists.

As Jenny and I walked out of the theatre a group of girls ahead of us were a buzz about the fantastic movie they had just watched and were already making plans to watch it, in the theatre an additional 2 times.

The movie was okay, good enough for a girl’s night out. Jenny and I felt sorry for the handful of guys that were dragged to it.

Are you not all loving the Olympics? The opening ceremonies were a fantastic display of precision and amazing fireworks! Sadly, with our limited cable, I am only able to catch snippets of events, but everything seems so exciting so far. No Canadian medal, yet, but I am not worried.

I fell completely head over heals in love with all Olympics, both summer and winter after the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. Read the story here.

Hey, guess who I got a wedding invitation from? This guy.

For all of you who don’t know the story, he is the one I coined the phrase, “We Didn’t Date, But We Sure Broke Up.” Don’t worry, I have officially moved on, quite a while ago, but considering since we haven’t really said two words to each other since our Tim Horton’s debacle, it was kinda weird to get the invitation.

Good luck to Jenny as she begins her adult life. I always love the first days of new jobs, not wanting to overwhelm the new person, the first day is usually spent becoming acquainted with your stapler and other office supplies, reading boring office manuals, and finally towards the end of the day, learning how to turn on your computer.

Hoping for a great week.

Don’t worry, I will call again this Saturday.

As Always,

I saw the movie today and the theatre had 8 people in it including Lara and I. The weirdest part was that the 7th and 8th people were an older married couple!
I so was like the loudest person in the theatre too, it was hilarious, I loved some of the parts more than I should have.
I still haven't finished your blog but almost.
