It Is True, Phase 10 Really Is Satan’s Game

It’s funny, when I turned 23, the song 23 by Jimmy Eat World was really my anthem. And now, four years later, someone else has picked it up as their own. Hold on to it, there aren’t a lot of songs about being 27.

Sorry for the lateness, but let me tell you about the weekend, because, surprisingly, there were some interesting occurrences.

Out of all of the current movies playing at the theatre these days, you are never going to believe what I got wrangled into watching on Friday. If you guessed Hellboy II, you are right. Can you believe it?

I haven’t seen the first Hellboy, and in fact hadn’t even heard about it until the sequel came around. About half way through the movie, “I bet this is just like the time you saw X-Men 2 without seeing X-Men first?” was whispered in my ear.

But unlike my X-Men experience, I was able to come to somewhat of an understanding of all of the characters and in fact, enjoyed the movie a lot more than I first thought I would.

The story wasn't that complex, and just like almost all the boys movies around today it seemed to be about some ancient army that needed to be unlocked. I was in fact more surprised by the fact that it was so well attended on opening night, finding seats together was really a challenge.

Three good things about the movie:

1. Created by the same people who did Pan's Labyrinth, the creatures were just as beautiful and creepy.

2. Fun company, and I was able to get one more person to watch Dan In Real Life.

3. Amazing preview for the new Batman flick, 'The Dark Knight'. Now I just have to see the first one!

Three not so good things about this movie:

1. The sudden and abrupt ending. Definitely set up for a sequel. Boo!

2. The huge lead up to the Golden Army, which was less than impressive when we actually got there.

3. If only my Nintendo worked, the night would have been that much better.

Saturday, after a funny afternoon with my real Trifecta of Awesome, and an overly expensive lunch, Jenny and I went to get our hair cut. I know! It happened, after months and post after post of talking about it.

I was finished first and patiently waited for Jenny with my pin straight flat hair (Boo! Stop straightening my hair!) and when Jenny came out, we came to the realization that we had gotten the exact same hair cut! It is a good thing that Jenny enjoys the straight hair, and I the curly hair, or else you would get the two of us confused more than people already do.

It is my hope that we can get our picture taken with the matching hair donned in the shirt that when we came out of the change room to show the other what we had tried on, we realized we had the same shirt on. We laughed so hard that we had to buy them.

Time has seemed to escape from us, as my boss is leaving on holidays at then end of this week, and I will be gone the next week. It seems had to believe that the summer is quickly drawing to a close (yes, I understand we still have all of August.) Just looking forward to whatever the future brings.

I'm here
I'm now
I'm ready

Good Luck to us all. Hoping to keep it together, so, please God speed.

As Always,
