Well, another weekend, another entry.
It always feels like our weekends are jam packed, with never really any time to eat, let alone sleep. Needless to say, I am hungry and tired.
We started the weekend with the dance on Friday night...meh. I really hate dances. Really. I know you don't believe me because "every girl loves to dance", but seriously I tolerate going at best. I hate the music they play, and I don't have any moves...none, not one. But, if that is where everyone is going to be....well, it doesn't kill me to go.
Saturday we got up early to get ready for our trip to Waterton. After a stop at Trevor's for some wonderful pancakes, we went to Budget to pick up our giant 15 passenger van...we didn't have 15 people going, but it was funny none the less. We decided to hike up/though Red Rock Canyon. Through the water, over logs and on slippery rocks. Wonderfully beautiful day, great views, shirtless boys, and super cold water. Could you have asked for a better day?
After we got out of the water, we decide to climb to Blackiston Falls to dry off. And then dragged our exhausted, hungry selves into town to get something to eat. We ended up a pretty creepy restaurant that had super sacrilegious nativity sets all over the place....the chicken one was my favourite. And then down the street for some ice cream.
We drove home in silence as everyone slept, and I sang songs in my head to keep me from falling asleep. The rest of the night was low key with everyone nursing their tired bodies, blisters and horsefly bites.

Oh sacreligious nativites. That reminds me of the time Joseph (Of Joseph and Mary fame) scared me to death on Christmas eve.
I was sneaking down to spy on presents and we had a little nativity scene that had a light set into it. Well, it just so happened that Jospeh's head cast a shadow on the wall that looked strikingly like my mother waiting to catch would-be christmas poachers. I high tailed it out of there, let me tell you.
That does sound scary...now imagine that story if it was a chicken Joseph!
What are you doing this weekend? Wanna come on our next escapade?
If your next escapade is thunder in the valley then yes. Otherwise I must respectfully decline.
Also is this how you contact me through blog comments? Don't you have my phone number? Ask ginger she has it, or email me at work (braden@southernstationers.com) and i'll send it to you, since I don't want random interweb people phoning me.
Wow Denise.... "a day in the life" eh? This comment has nothing to do with your latest post, I'm just really impressed with the Beatles shout out! You're a girl after my own heart.
