Okay, I know it was just a dumb FHE. A contest, that really didn't mean anything, except to show that there are people dumb enough, in both wards, to completely and utterly humiliate themselves.
But I am now the newly crowned "Miss Victoria Park 2006"!
I don't think I get much with the title. No modeling contracts or lifetime supply of sun tanning oil. But just the title is enough for me. I have been waiting for this for the past 7 years!

Budget--Get Out Of The Ordinary
Well...Here it is. My last week of working for Budget Car and Truck Rentals. It has only been the last year and a half of my life, and now I guess that it is time that I become a real adult. Maybe about time considering I am 25. (I guess life really does begin at 25)
So I have 4.5 days left of work, and then a week of "holidays" in the glorious hamlet of Lakepoint, UT. (Is it even a hamlet?)
I am somewhat melancholy to be leaving my slack, funny, comfortable job. We always seem to have a good time, with lots of laughs everyday. The hardest thing I have to do, is ask "Would you like the coverage on the vehicle?" the rental car equivalent of "Would you like fries with that?"
Not to toot my own horn (Toot, Toot) but I don't know what Chuck is going to do without me for a while. I am the one who remembers where all the cars are, and where she put all the contracts, plus, I am the only one that puts the paper work away. But I know they will be fine, and I am trying to line up some good help for them.
But it is time to move on. Welcome September. I think this is the new beginning that we have been waiting for. (But then again, didn't we say that in May, June, July and August? We have to be right sometime.)
Thanks for all the wonderful moments, early mornings, dirty cars and annoying customers. I will miss you.

Here It Is...Post 100!
Group dates don't count. Or at least that is what my fridge says. (it is a magnet on our fridge...we don't have a talking fridge that gives out dating advice...but wouldn't that be cool if we did!) More about this later...the date...not our fridge...are you intrigued?
A Happy Heritage Day to one and all. I hope you took time out of your busy long weekend to remember who you are and what you stand for. Heaven knows I did! No, not really. I was just trying to make you feel guilty...did it work?
This was the first weekend in about a month...or longer that we have not gone on some far off expedition. However it was just as jammed packed as any of our other weekends have been.
Friday, we started off by hanging out with some of the craziest/cutest guys that we know. Seriously we didn't do anything except sit around and listen to all of their crazy stories, but we had such a fun time doing it. We ended up at the dance...which was one of the poorest dances I have ever been too! I know, I am not a good judge of dances...I hate them all. But I felt like I was at a Stake Dance. I think the average age of the dance was 17...and that was with me and Ginger there. When I finally arrived at the dance, there was someone's mom waiting outside in a minivan!
Saturday was definitely a lazy day...after we all slept in and took half the day to get ready, we sat around looking for something to do. We should have definitely made firm plans because we ended up sitting in a parking lot, listening to Aerosmith and freezing! Not really the enchanted evening that we had imagined. If we have learned anything from that experience, indiciviness never pays.
Sunday, after a sweet date to Break the Fast, and a crazy Rice Krispie Square making production, we got ready for our monthly, long weekend camp out extravaganza! (Really we have only had 2 campouts, but they both seemed to fall on long weekends, so maybe it could be a tradition...or maybe it is just something that happened twice...only time will tell.)
We set up the tent in our front yard. We are getting quite proficient at setting up the tent in a hurry. Our tent has been well used this summer...even if it is just in people's backyards. I did the right thing, and slept inside....my dad was proud. I don't think I missed much...just Danny talking about bubbles in his sleep.
We ended up at the Corn Maze on Monday afternoon, and luckily we made it out in 3rd place. I learned that turkeys are some of the ugliest animals ever. Who decided that we could eat them? After the Corn Maze the girls went swimming...or more standing in the water. And then went home to get ready for our hot "date".
Ahh...the date. I am proud of you for making it through all the reading to get to this part of the weekend.
On Friday night, as part of our crazy conversation with our crazy boys, one of the boys had come up with a funny Mexican date idea. Everyone got excited so we planned to have our big date on Monday night.
After only a few minor mishaps and a lot of primping time for the girls, our magical, random evening started. We ended up by dressing up like Mexican and eating at Taco Bell. (I know, I know, a little...unconventional, but funny none the less.) We followed up the food with some Pinata-ing and then...fencing? Yup, fencing. I guess Zorro was Mexican. We ended the night with crazy stories and a lot of laughs. A good time...even if it was a little more random that what we would normally be doing. At least the boys planned something! Thanks guys!
The weekend feels like more than a blur now, but we had a wonderful time with all of our favourite people. Now to get started on that talking fridge!

Admit You're Happy Month
Can you believe it is August already? Seriously. I know I say that at the beginning of every month. But August?!?
Where did the summer go? Only 4 weeks until we have the craziness of September again. We complained in April about losing everyone for the summer and being a combined ward. But now, I am sad to see our fun summer come to an end.
Soon we will have to start thinking about Thanksgiving, Preference, Christmas and New Years. Soon it will be a year since I started writing on this thing! Oh my good heavens, so much has happened. So many funny stories, so many new people! The time has gone by too quickly.
Okay, enough.
We have done very well in our Operation Castration. It makes a huge difference planning out our days. Less time for random things, and wasted time. Plus it has given us more time to spend together with the girls, and the guys that we love.
We have recently taken up tennis. In which, like every sport I have tried I am hopelessly horrible at. I don't seems to have any hand- eye coordination. I keep trying sports in hopes that one day I will find the one sport that seems to fit me perfectly. But so far I haven't found the right one yet. Maybe it is some weird foreign sport that I am miraculously wonderful at...but I am not holding my breath for that.
Here is to the rest of summer. May it be filled with bright days, warm nights, good laughs, and maybe some scandle.
